Jerry Newberry
Jerry Newberry joined the staff at VFW National Headquarters as Director Of Communications and Public Affairs in January 2001. Previous to this, he was employed by a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and a speechwriter for a former secretary of the VA.
In an effort to capture the real stories of courage and progress from Iraq and Afghanistan, Newberry has embarked on three embeds with troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each time he lived the life of a soldier, eating what they ate, sleeping where they slept and going wherever the mission took them.
His own military service began in 1968 when he entered the Army serving with the 101st AIrborne and MACV in Vietnam.
Following his military service, Newbeerry earned a degree in business and political science from Wayne State in Detroit, Mich. As a former newspaper reporter and columnist, Newberry stayed active in veterans affairs during this time.

Randy Miller
Originally from Knoxville, Tenn., Randy is the president of Brainstorm Media, as well as the executive producer and The National Defense co-host. He is a 25 year broadcast veteran and has hosted morning shows on radio stations in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, San Diego, Cincinnati and Kansas City, Mo.
Randy is the recipient of several broadcasting awards, including "Air Personality of the Year" from Billboard Magazine and the Radio Music Awards.
Randy, who resides in Springhill, Kan., also is the creator and host of a Kansas City dating-game show.
